Cherokee’s City Council Tuesday held a Public Hearing on the proposed Development Agreement with the City’s newest employer, Lopez Foods, scheduled to begin its meat processing operation here in early June. This Agreement includes the necessary incentives to meet the state required matching economic development incentives for Lopez Foods, and includes a 10 year, 50% TIF (Tax Increment Financing) rebate to Lopez, not to exceed $400,000. ...
