Cherokee’s City Council Tuesday held a Public Hearing on the proposed Development Agreement with the City’s newest employer, Lopez Foods, scheduled to begin its meat processing operation here in early June. Earl Eugene Hanks, age 73 of Milwauke, Oregon (formally of of Quimby) passed away on May 13, 2020 at his residence. Due to Covid-19, the funeral is pending. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery for Veterans. Eugene was born on June 10, 1946 at Ute, Iowato Earl and Dorothy (Watt) Hanks. He attended Quimby and Willow Community School.
