Dr. Thomas Michael Gary (Obituary ~ 09/18/20)
Dr. Thomas Michael Gary passed away on September 14, 2020, at Avera Hospice in Yankton South Dakota after battling brain cancer. Tom was born on July 8, 1935 in Denison Iowa to Fredrick and Mary Gary. He married Georgiana Lee Frost on April 16, 1960. He served in the United States Public Health Services and was stationed in Seattle, Detroit, and San Francisco. In 1965 he moved his family from San Francisco to Cherokee and practiced family medicine until his retirement in 2006. He retired to Yankton, South Dakota where he enjoyed biking, kayaking, skiing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Lee of Yankton, SD; and his three children: Steven Gary and his wife Sheila (Wiese) Gary of Carmichael, CA. Dawn Gary and her husband Joe Wenzl of Omaha, NE; Mark Gary and his wife Christy (Lahaug) Gary of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.. ... -
