The Cherokee Chamber of Commerce has continued with its annual scarecrow contest tradition, decorating up and down Main Street and around the downtown area with cheerful and colorful creations by local businesses. The Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation (CAEDC) hosted its first annual golf tournament. It was a beautiful day and the event was a big success. Samantha Laudon and Isaiah Salmon of Arthur, Iowa are both proud to announce the birth of their new daughter. Scarlett Rose Salmon was born on September 23, 2020 at 3:55 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 19.5 inches in length. Scarlett has one brother named Emmett Salmon. Once again, it is that time of the year when the Friends of the Cherokee Public Library start to think about Book Baskets! For the 21st consecutive year, the Friends will hold a book basket silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the library in various ways such as the annual Summer Reading Program and the purchase of audiobooks and books in large print...

We had a great night in Alta even with a little rain but the temps were perfect for racing. Our middle school ran fantastic with the girls taking 2nd and having medalist McKenna Benson 5th, Lydia Hart 9th, and Abryl Mongan 10th. The boys finished 3rd lead by Medalist Kyler Ducommun in 6th. ...
