Ginny Bunt wins Quilt Batts Raffle (Local News ~ 10/23/20)
Ginny Bunt is the winner of the Quilt Batts raffle drawing. She was presented with the queen-sized creation on October 21 by Shirley Guthridge. Every three years the Quilt Batts hold a show and raffle off a quilt as a fundraiser and a portion of the proceeds from the raffle go to the Cherokee Regional Medical Center. Due to COVID-19, the show was canceled but the raffle was held anyway, with Bunt being declared the winner... -

Joyce was born in rural Cleghorn, Iowa on September 6, 1940 to Harold & Opal Gibson Skaggs. She grew up with her brother, Bob Skaggs of San Juan Capistrano, CA, on a farm, first outside of Cleghorn then the family moved to acreage in Cherokee. Joyce attended Morningside College. Braves Defeated by Orabs 3-2

The Braves played a very hard fought game but were ultimately defeated by Sheldon 3-2. Set scores were 25-22, 24-26, 27-25, 24-26, and 15-12. All of our hitters had positive kill percentages which is usually unheard of when a team loses. Leading the attack was Grace Anderson with 18 kills, 9 defensive digs, 3 serving Aces, 1 assist block, and 2 solo blocks. Second on the attack was Teagan Slaughter with 16 kills, 5 defensive digs, 2 Ace serves, and 4 assist blocks. JeMae Nichols played a very solid game for the Braves as well. She lead with a .560 kill percentage with 14 kills and 2 digs. . ...
