Student of the month: Brittany Lux

The Knights of Columbus Council #1722 of Cherokee are pleased to announce that the "Student of the Month" for February is Brittany Lux of Cherokee. She is the daughter of Mark and Sue Lux.

Lux is very active in the church, community and school. She and her family members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. She is an active member of the I.C. Youth Council, weekend retreat youth group and Parish roadside cleanup project participant.

At Washington High School she is a very busy student involved in band for the past four years, German Club, football and basketball cheerleading, cross-country for four years and track for 3 years. She is a member of the German National Honor Society, National Honor Society and was awarded as an All-American Scholar. Lux has recently been nominated to "Who's Who Among American High School Students" this year. She also was the 2004 Homecoming Queen.

Her interests include band, running, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She plans to attend college at the University of Northern Iowa and study Pre-Professional Nursing while she hopes to someday be a pediatric nurse practitioner.

The Knights of Columbus would like to congratulate Brittany Lux for all her accomplishments and activities and will recognize her at the February monthly meeting as the "Student of the Month".
