At an Aurelia School Board meeting last week, it was decided to contact the Cherokee School Board to discuss sharing a superintendent in light of the resignation of Marlin Lode, superintendent of the Cherokee District, effective at the end of the fiscal year.
Meeting later in the week in special session regarding the resignation of Lode, the Cherokee School Board agreed to meet with Aurelia School Board members to discuss the possibility.
The Cheroke Board will likely discuss at the regular board meeting tonight (Monday) a possible time for a joint meeting with the Aurelia Board. The Cherokee Board meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
Lode has been superintendent of the Cherokee District since the 1996/97 school year. Prior to that, he was superintendent of the Aurelia School District.
Tom Vint has been superintendent of the Aurelia School District since the 2002/03 school year.
