Aurelia Music Boosters Concert

Monday, February 28, 2005

The Aurelia Music Boosters proudly present the astounding a cappella group, Tonic Sol-Fa in concert, Saturday, March 12, 7 p.m. in the Aurelia High School Gym for a fund-raising concert. Proceeds from the event will be used to help fund the next band and choir trip to be held in Ski/Music Festival in Winter Park, Colo. and brought back 1st place trophies for Jazz Band, Jazz Choir and Concert Band. the entire trip cost approximately $25,000.

With costs continually rising, funds are needed to take the students on these trips. We have high hopes that this concert will give us a good start towards sending the band and choir on their next trip. Tickets are available in advance only for $15 each. There will be no reserved seating and seating is limited. No tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Aurelia School Office or by calling 712-434-5991. Plan now to join us for an evening of music and fun with Tonic Sol-Fa.

Additional sponsors include Heritage Bank, First Trust & Savings Bank, Dr. Tim DeStigter, Lockin Insurance, Jensen Insurance, Maple Valley Mutual Insurance, Village Boutique/Allen Farms, CARS, Aurelia Electric Board, Pioneer Hi-Bred, Jung's TaeKwonDo, Aurelia Lumber/Maple Valley Hardware, Kolpin Law Firm, Studebakers, Smith Productions, KCHE Radio, Pearson Repair, and Aurelia Commercial Club.

Although they are simply four voices and a tambourine, Tonic Sol-Fa has spent the past seven years on the road carving their niche as the Midwest's top vocal group. And in that time, this quartet has been named one of the top five "must see" groups in America by Campus Activities Today Magazine, has won numerous original song and album awards, and was nominated multiple time for the prestigious "Entertainer of the Year" award by the National Association of Campus Activities. Outings with such as acts as "Weird" Al Yankovic, Shawn Colvin, Herman's Hermits, Lonestar and others, have helped push album sales to more than 100,000 copies (mostly sold from the back of their trailer!) and have earned the group thousands of intensely loyal fans.
