Kiwanis Student of the Month

Tuesday, March 22, 2005

The Kiwanis Middle School Student of the Month for February was announced at the club's Feb. 22 meeting. Cherokee Kiwanis Club members recognized eighth grade student, Misty Bruhn.

Misty, who is the daughter of Tim and Millie Bruhn, is an outstanding student at Cherokee Middle School. Misty is active in basketball, track, volleyball, softball, choir, and art mentorship. She is equally busy outside of school through her participation in youth activities in the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Misty recognizes her parents as positive role models in her life. Misty believes our world would improve, if we all worked harder to avoid war.

Students selected for the "Kiwanis Student of the Month" Award must demonstrate good academic effort, attend school regularly, and be considerate of others. The purpose of the recognition is to support students who show good potential as future leaders and will work for the betterment of communities through service to others.
