Megan Kinsey Named as Cleghorn's Reader

Tuesday, May 24, 2005

By Ron Flewelling

It's a pretty safe bet to say that the winter of 2004-05 is now one for the record books and it's time for those seasonal showers.

Unfortunately, those spring sprinkles also make the grass grow, heralding another season of mowing the lawn labors.

Luckily, before cranking up that Snapper, there's time for three cheers and a couple of spring storm thunderclaps for Megan Kinsey as she steps forward to receive the honors as the Cleghorn Library's April Reader of the Month.

During the school day, Megan can be found on the receiving end of all those lessons at her desk in the fifth grade classroom at the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Middle School.

Being a person you can count on, it will come as no surprise that Math holds down the spot as Megan's subject of choice.

Every time this reader visits the library, she finds herself in a bit of a quandary...one that could best be described as "so many books and so little time."

In other words, Megan notes that there are tons and tons of great books to be found on the library's shelves. So many, in fact that many times it's hard to decide on just which book to crack open and read.

As far as her own preferred reading list is concerned, Megan has a penchant for tales in the humorous genre...with Henry Winkler rating right in there as her favorite author.

When this Cleghorn reader is not tackling one of her subjects in school or chuckling over her latest read, she can be found happily engaged in one of favorite pastimes.

Being a bouncy sort of person, gymnastic gyrations provide Megan with both fun and exercise.

She also enjoys playing with her friends.

As far as her future plans are concerned, Megan just has her sights set on the admirable goal of becoming the #1 reader in her class.

Megan Kinsey is a Marcus kid who shares the home gym mat with her folks...Jennifer and Tim, and her kid brother...seven-year-old Mitch.
