Alissa Ann Snyder and Thomas Jonathan Mangan exchanged marriage vows at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Madrid. Father Brian Danner officiated. A reception was held for the couple at Hickory's Hall in Ames following the ceremony.

The couple is at home in Ames. The bride is substitute teaching in the Ames area elementary schools, and the groom is a graduate student at Iowa State University.

Parents of the bride are Michael and Rhonda Snyder of Cherokee, The bride's grandmother is Faith (Hanson) Specht of Marcus, and her great grandmother is Lola Perrett of Cherokee. Parents of the groom are Joseph and Barbara Mangan also of Cherokee. His grandmother is Velma Lubeck of Cherokee.

The wedding party consisted of maid of honor, Mandy Snyder of Nashville, Tenn, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jessica Kisilewski and Shera Jablonski of Ames, and Patti Johnson of Ankeny, all friends of the couple. The honorary flower girl was Haleigh Mangan of Davenport, niece of the groom.

The best man was Jake Dyslin of Ames, friend of the couple. Groomsmen included Tim Mangan of Davenport, brother of the groom, Brian Parrish of Ames, friend of the couple, who was standing in for the groom's brother, Dan Mangan of Annapolis, Md., and Bob Mangan of St. Petersburg, Fla., brother of the groom. Ushers included Mike Lubeck of Cherokee, uncle of the groom and Jake Urbatsch, of Manly, friend of the couple.
