Steven Arthur Block and Danae Sue Miller were united in marriage at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee on July 9, 2005 at 5 p.m. Reverend Raymond Hampton officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Douglas Miller.

Parents of the groom are Phillip and LaVonne Block of Gladbrook. The parents of the bride are Douglas and Julia Miller of Cherokee.

The best man was Jurgen Block, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen included Damon Miller, brother of the bride, and Trent Coombs, brother-in-law of the bride. The maid of honor was Dawn Coombs, sister of the bride and the bridesmaids were Amy Miller, sister-in-law of the bride, and Rebecca DeRoo, friend of the bride.

Other members of the wedding party included the ring bearers, Callan and Easton Miller, both nephews of the bride and the flower girl, Trinity Coombs, niece of the bride. Ushers were Timothy Jones, nephew of the bride, Tyler Jones, nephew of the bride, and Clinton Dobbs, brother-in-law of the groom. In charge of the guestbook was Regan Dobbs, sister of the groom and the bride's personal attendant was Robin Schonrock, aunt of the bride.

Organist was Dan Kratz and flutist was Laura LaFleur. Friends of the bride, Denny and Cherie Holton and Mike and Joyce Bechtel along with aunt and uncle of the groom, Chris and Carolyn Roberts were the hosts.

Grandparents of the bride are Constance Means of Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Longstaff of West Des Moines and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Miller of Algona.

The grooms attire was a black Fumagali two button notch tuxedo with a pleated ivory shirt with laydown collar. An Eclipse vest with coordinating Windsor ties.

The brides gown was a by designer, Maggie Sottero in diamond white and champagne colors. It was a strapless, one-piece corset back gown with an organza overlay on the bodice, and an organza side insert panel. The organza is adorned with a soft floral motif created from the embroidery, Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, and sequins.

The bridesmaids dresses were similar to the bride's gown, strapless with corset back in champagne color.

A reception immediately followed the ceremony at the Cherokee Community Center with decorations done in shades of pink and ivory; flowers were done by Country Treasures Floral and Gift in Holstein. They took their honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Steve and Danae Block now reside in Reinbeck. Groom is employed by Peterson Contractors, Inc. and the bride is employed at Ryder Integrated Logistics, Inc. in Waterloo.
