Heather Hayes and Ryan Petersen were married Sept. 17, 2005 at Montreat Presbyterian Church in Montreat, N.C. Reverend Richard White officiated.

Parents of the couple are Bill and Bonnie Hayes of Charlotte, N.C. and Gene and Joanne Petersen of Cleghorn. The bride's grandparents are Willian and Susan Hayes, Virginia McBane, and Ed and Mary Walsh. The groom's grandparents are Vernon and Ruby Wester of Cleghorn and Joyce Scoggins of Omaha, Neb.

Mary Beth Hayes was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alicia Hayes, sister of the bride, Lindsey Petersen and Lauren Petersen, sisters of the groom, April Boehm and Katie Oelschalger, friends of the bride. Jeff Petersen served as his brother's best man. Groomsmen were William Hayes, brother of the bride, Nick Erdman, Josh Jipp, Kory Wenell, and Nathan Martin, friends of the groom. The flower girl was Phoebee Boehm.

A reception was held immediately after the ceremony in Black Mountain. A second open come and go reception will be held Dec. 30, from 7-9 p.m. at Oakdale Evangelical Free Church in Meriden.

Heather is a graduate of Montreat College in Montreat, N.C. Ryan is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City and Trinity Seminary in Deerfield , Ill.

Following a honeymoon in the Smokey Mountains the couple is at home in Arden, N.C.
