Recent warm weather and lack of snow conditions has forced a two-week postponement of the annual Cherokee Offshore Masters Golf Tournament in Koser-Spring Lake Park, previously scheduled for Saturday, January 21.
The event has been moved to Saturday, February 4, depending on course conditions at that time.
The 19th annual funfest averages between 70-100 golfers taking to the frozen links, with the sand "greens" located on frozen Spring Lake, and the tees on dry land.
The tourney format includes a challenging 9-hole, par-34 golf course, with only irons 6 through 9, and putters allowed for clubs. Colored golf balls also are required.
There is a $15 greens fee, with plaques awarded to the top three places, and cash prizes for all flight winners. Drawings for door prizes will be held throughout the day and food is available in the expanded Yacht Club.
The popular winter attraction - the premier winter golf tourney in the Midwest - is also sponsored by Golf Etc., and many other Cherokee merchants.
Proceeds from this season's tournament will benefit the new Gillette Park playground.

Golfers also are asked to dress in their favorite sports team attire to liven up the festivities even more.
