Sesquicentennial All School reunion update

Monday, January 23, 2006

As of the end of December, 2005, 850 advance notice postcards were mailed via the U.S. Post Office and approximately 1,200 were e-mailed. There is still no information from the classes of 1982, 1993, 1999, 2002, 2003, and 2005. If someone can provide a list (or individual names) by April 1, we can contact them either by mail or e-mail for the final and formal invitation going out May 1. Please call Sharon Fliear at 225-0136 or e-mail sfliear@yahoo.com.

Lists still in progress by volunteer providers include:

1991 - Claudia Comstock and Amy Wood 225-6472 or comstock6472@msn.com

1996 - Amy (Ruble) Hensley - 515-963-0945 or akhensley@gmail.com

1997 - Jennifer (Barlow) Simonson fleetwoodmac79@hotmail.com or mail to 2325 Belmont Drive, Coralville, IA 52241

2000 - Loren Friedrichsen 225-6061 or fready1@netins.net

2004 - Ivy Sivinski 225-2974 or ivysivinski@hotmail.com

Anyone who can help with information for any of these classes, please contact the appropriate person(s). Class lists or individual names must be turned in no later than April 1. We will be mailing ou the formal All-School Reunion Invitation on May 1 with a return requested by June 1.

The committee needs that much time to complete printing projects, and of course the final plans for the event. We have had very positive responses and expect a "really big crowd" for the "really big show".

Cherokee county attendees will have access to the invitations and form to return as follows:

* It will be printed in the Chronicle Times to cut out and return.

* It will be available on-line at one of three websites, listed later in this article, to print and return.

* It can also be picked up at several locations in Cherokee to be announce at a later date.

Many classes are planning individual special events, for example, open houses, special anniversary year banquets, and more. As those classes schedule definite dates, times and places for their special event call or e-mail the information to Sharon Fliear so it can be included in the reunions link of the Washington High School website www.cherokee.k12.ia.us and in a special supplement by the Chronicle Times which will be printed just prior to the events.

To be included in the All-School Band and Chorus mail your response to Cherokee 150th, C/O Sherry Held, 416 West Main Street, Cherokee IA 51012, call 225-0136, or email sfliear@yahoo.com.

Those interested in singing in the chorus may also contact Gary Leatherman directly via email at golfinsongbird@webtv.net.

The Sesquicentennial Committee has many events planned and more in the offering, this is sure to be a fun packed event with something for everyone!
