Amanda Snyder and Dennis Davis exchanged marriage vows on December 28, 2005, at a private sunset beach ceremony in Key Biscayne, Fla.
Following their wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple is at home in Nashville, Tenn. The bride is employed as site director at the Brentwood Family YMCA. She is the daughter of Michael and Rhonda Snyder of Cherokee. Her grandmother is Faith (Hanson) Specht of Marcus, and her great-grandmother is Lola Perrett of Cherokee.
Amanda ia a 1997 graduate of Washington High School in Cherokee and a 2001 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls where she received her bachelor of arts degree in elementary and middle school education.
The groom is pursuing his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt Universtiy in Nashville. He is the son of Don and Linda Davis of Goldsboro, N.C. Dennis graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1997 and from Duke University in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. The bride and groom met while teaching at KIPP Aspire Academy in San Antonio, Texas.
Immediate family present at the wedding were the bride and groom's parents, the bride's grandmother, Faith Specht, and her husband, Don, of Marcus, the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Alissa and Tom Mangan of Ames, and the groom's brother Tyler Davis, of Goldsboro, N.C.
A reception will be held for family and friends at 6 p.m. on March 11 at the Western Iowa Tech Convention Center in Cherokee.
