The River Valley School Board dealt with numerous personnel matters at the Monday evening board meeting.
The board approved contracts for Gene Woods as assistant cook; Mike Persinger as boys' track coach, and Graham Lundt as assistant girls' track coach and assistant boys' track coach.
Resignations were approved from Don Belson as National Honor Society sponsor and Jenny Blackmore as drill team coach. An early retirement was approved for Gerald Hyler, business teacher and technical coordinator.
The board was informed of some changes in class offerings. A Business and Personal Finance class will replace an Economics class. A pre-Algebra course will replace General Math. A Calculus course will become a Calculus AP course, making students eligible to take a test at the conclusion for college credit.
Other new offerings will include a Music Appreciation college course and Web Design and Development.
The board tabled action on a roof project at Washta as some bids came in at over the $25,000 maximum for a project not requiring a public hearing.
The board was informed that the Cushing building now officially belongs to the city of Cushing and no longer property of the school district.
