The Cherokee P.O.W./ M.I.A. group, recently profiled in the Chronicle-Times, has sent its first donation of $500 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The group plans to keep raising money for the fund throughout the rest of 2006. The funds are being raised through the sale of t-shirts.
A new fund-raiser has also been announced. The Quimby Golf Course has generously offered the use of their course, with no green fees, for a three-man tournament on Saturday, June 10.
Entry fee will be $20 per man, and the entire $20 fee will be donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. There is a limit of 81 participants , and those interested can sign up at the Brightside Lounge in Cherokee. The $20 per man fee is to be paid during the sign up.
