Construction has begun on the first duplex of Sunset Park. Sunset Park is located on the south side of West 6th Street in Aurelia, and is an independent living entity that provides independent retirement living for individuals and or couples age 65 or older.
Sunset Park consists of a possible four free standing duplexes. These duplexes are handicap accessible, with no basement or stairs. The 1250 square foot unit has two bedrooms, one bathroom, dinning room, living room, kitchen, utility room and appliances. The 1600 square foot unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dinning room, living room, kitchen, utility room and appliances. Each unit has a 250 square foot garage and optional add-on sunroom, 3-seasons room, and patio.
The subscription price of a duplex unit at Sunset Park is dependent on labor and material costs at the time of construction. The cost of construction will depend on final design chosen by the resident. Final design and price range is subject to the approval of Sunset Park. If agreed-upon improvements are made to the basic design of any Sunset residence, the additional cost of those improvements will be passed on to the resident.
A monthly maintenance fee will be charged for each unit. In addition to the monthly maintenance fee, each resident will be required to pay utilities and property tax allotted to that unit. Included in the monthly maintenance fee are a management fee paid to Sunset Knoll Care & Rehab Center are property insurance (excluding "tenant's insurance," which the resident must obtain independently), emergency nurse call system, services of snow removal, grass cutting, all maintenance on the inside and the outside of the unit.
