Valley Bank & Trust is building a second bank facility in Marcus along side Highway 143, right off of State Highway 3. The bank is expanding their services to accommodate customers on the west side of Cherokee County. At the same time, the bank believes it will complement the new planned business park in Marcus while helping Marcus grow.
Construction will begin by June 1 and the completion target date is by Marcus Fair time, around August 10.
Ebert Construction is the main contractor. Gary Dodd will take care of the plumbing and Rick Nelson is the electric contractor.
The building will feature a spacious lobby with three teller windows. There will be two loan offices and a new account office. In addition, there will be a large board room for meetings.
The facility will be a full-service bank and provide a drive-up window for added convenience. In addition, real estate services will be provided there.
Executive VP and CEO, Pat Kirby, commented, "It seems logical to build a new facility with the ethanol plant going full steam, a new truck stop being built, plans are going forth for a new biodiesel plant. Marcus is a happening place and we have existing customers who deserve convenient service. It's an exciting time and we want to be a part of the community."
