Amelia Elliott crowned Rodeo Queen

Amelia Elliott was crowned the 2006 Miss Rodeo Cherokee Saturday evening.

She is the 16-year-old daughter of Chris Elliott of rural Meriden and David Elliott of Cherokee. She will be a senior next fall at Washington High School.

Amelia is active in band, Spanish Club, Spanish Honor Society, competing in open horse shows, and Caveliers. She is a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Prior to her announcement as Miss Rodeo Cherokee she was asked what the title would mean to her. Amelia replied, "I feel that becoming Miss Rodeo Cherokee would be an amazing opportunity to represent a sport I love and improve my social skills along the way."
