Struck's responsibilities will be to represent WITCC at community events, to assist instructors, students and staff with campus activities, and to coordinate the WITCC Conference Center usage.
Struck is currently an adjunct instructor of public speaking and foundation classes in reading and writing at the Cherokee Campus.
Previously, Struck was employed as office manager at The Chronicle Newspaper in Cherokee, and as an editor of newsletters and manuals for Aspen Publishers, a former Akron-based company specializing in non-profit management and fund-raising.
Struck is a graduate of Pella Christian High School in Pella. She earned her bachelor's degree in English, music and secondary education from Dordt College in Sioux Center, and her master's degree in Mass Communication from Iowa State University in Ames.
Struck is married to Paul Struck, Associate Publisher/Editor of the Chronicle Times in Cherokee. They have two children, Alex 13, and Alisanne 5.
She is a member of the Cherokee Public Library Foundation, and the Cherokee Public Library Board of Directors. Ten years ago, Struck founded the handbell choir of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, and continues to direct the bell choir.
"Darla will be a great asset as Campus Services Coordinator serving the Cherokee area," said Diane Hargens, Director of WITCC Branch Campuses. "She is familiar with the college and the community. I look forward to working with her in this new capacity."
Struck replaces Mary Raveling of Cherokee, the former WITCC Campus Services Coordinator, who has retired.
