For this summer, Katie Fulton is teaming up with Mary Meloy in conducting Yoga and Energy Movement classes at the Body of Wisdom, 124 East Main Street in Cherokee.

In addition to the intermediate, basic and meditation classes that Meloy offers, Fulton is offering a teens only class. Those interested can sign up for a three month series or can come as a walk in for individual sessions.

"Yoga is very good for physical health and it calms the mind," Fulton said, "I'm hoping everyone will feel welcome. We work with individuals to provide something for everybody."

Fulton is a 1997 graduate of Washington High School in Cherokee. She has an associates degree from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

Fulton has studied yoga in the United States and in India. She spent two years in India. She has been certified through a Yoga Studio in Michigan.

There are established times for the different level of classes but Fulton said that they are flexible in accommodating people's schedules.

Fulton said she does not know what she will be doing after the summer. She does not plan on continuing as a Yoga instructor after the summer but may return in the future. Meloy conducts classes on an ongoing basis.
