Our Opinion: Congratulations Cherokee

Monday, July 17, 2006

By all accounts, the Cherokee 150th birthday celebration was a huge success.

There are too many people to thank for the success of this event, more than the hardworking members of the Sesquicentennial Committee, co-chaired by Even Knapp and Jim Adamson, more than the organizers of the all-school reunion, headed by Sharon Flier, more than the city employees and all the volunteers.

The entire city and all the people who attended the event are responsible for its success.

Maybe we should do something like this again in about 50 years.
