The Cherokee School Board held a special meeting on Friday last week, the last day of the fiscal year which ends June 30.
The reason for the noon meeting was to approve the final list of bills for the fiscal year.
The board also acted on one personnel matter. The board approved a recommendation to offer a contract to Sara Riley as middle school language arts and title 1 teacher.
The board also discussed a potential scheduling conflict for the next school board meeting, usually held on the third Monday of the month. Because Cherokee will likely have a tournament baseball game that day, the school board meeting has been set back one day to Tuesday, July 18.
