CORRECTIONVILLE - A talented Lawton-Bronson football team ripped through River Valley's Homecoming game here Friday night, taking a resounding 38-0 victory home with it.
Eagle quarterback Ethan Logsdon passed 7-11 for 94 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed 10 times for 69 yards, to lead the winners throughout. L-B running back Levi Keleher rushed 14 times for 61 yards and two touchdowns, while fellow running back Mike Smith carried it eight times for 90 yards.
Ethan Byers paced the host Wolverines with 16 carries for 43 yards, while Pat Brinkman rushed six times for 30 yards, Pat parcel three times for 10 yards, and Tyler Clark five times for six yards.
A highlight for River Valley was Pat parcel's 65-yard kick-off return right before halftime, but the Wolverines were unable to cash it in the end zone.
Dylan Rex led the RV defense with nine solo tackles and one assist, followed by Tyrel McCrea with six solos and one assist, and Paul Munoz four solo tackles and one assist.
"Unfortunately, the only sign of a spark came on Pat Parcel's 65-yard kick-off return," said first-year Wolverine coach Kent Bass. "It was obvious Lawton-Bronson was a faster and more physical football team that just out-played us.
"We've got a lot of work to do this next week of practice as we prepare for AHST (Friday in Correctionville). Lawton-Bronson is a very fast and balanced team. They have a chance to do some great things this year."
