AKRON - The Eagles of Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn coach Carla Weber took on the Akron-Westfield Westerners in War Eagle Conference volleyball action at Akron Tuesday night.

The Westerners took the first two games by scores of 25-19 and 25-8, before the Eagles came back to take game three, 25-16. They weren't able to build momentum on that win, unfortunately, and dropped the fourth game by that same 25-16 score.

Andrea Doeden had 14 kills at the net to lead the Eagles' hitting, and also had nine ace serves in her 18/19 serving performance. Samantha Taylor was 14/14 with four aces.

Brandi Hansen topped the Eagles in blocking, with four, and other defensive leaders included Anna Klingenberg with 21 digs, and Erica Kunzweiler and Kaylee Dreckman with 60 and 50 assists, respectively.

The Eagles end regular season play tonight against South O'Brien in Marcus.
