Aurelia VB season comes to an end

SCHALLER - The Aurelia Bulldog volleyball team played Schaller-Crestland in first round District Tournament action at Schaller on Monday night.

The host school beat the Bulldogs in three straight games, 25-13, 25-16, 25-22, to end the Bulldogs' season.

Kristine Munden and Cassy Smith each had four kills to lead Bulldog hitting, and both had blocks on defense as well - Munden three and Smith two.

Christa Corderman and Priscilla Otto led the team in setting, as usual. Corderman had 34 sets (four for aces) and Otto 33 (five for aces).

Munden, Smith, Emily Sonksen, Liz Laursen, Corderman, Otto,and Kayla Ballantyne are all seniors. Leah Kai will be the only Bulldog returning next season with substantial varsity experience.

Coach Ireland , who returned to the bench this season after a three-year absence,

said "It was a fun season - I had fun. I was proud of our team all season. We played very tough with everyone, and lost many close games.

"I wish Schaller-Crestland luck in the tourney - they are a class act. I also wish our girls the best of luck in basketball."
