Funeral services for Eunice M. Andersen, 96, of Aurelia, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Alta, with Pastor Terry Pollard officiating. Burial was at the Elk Township Cemetery north of Alta. Visitation was Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. With the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Andersen died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at the Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia, where she had been a resident since Sept., 2000.
Eunice Margaret Adolphson was born April 22, 1910, in Elk Township north of Alta, the daughter of Oscar T. and Matilda (Vanderhoff) Adolphson. Andersen attended country school at Elk Center School until third grade, then in Alta where she graduated in 1928. On Feb. 24, 1939 Eunice married Marvin Miller Andersen at the Methodist Parsonage in Alta. Eunice was a farm wife, living on various farms in Elk Township for 34 years. They retired in 1972 and moved to Storm Lake. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, the Country Ramblers, and Neighborhood Club. Andersen enjoyed doing needlework.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin on May 8, 2002, and her brother Floyd and his wife Fern Adolphson.
Survivors include three nephews, Richard, Steven, and Kenneth Adolphson, and numerous other relatives and friends.
