Lara Wester and David Jimerson were united in marriage on Aug. 12, 2006 at Cedar Point Convention Center and Ballroom in Sandusky, Ohio. Pastor Brad Hall officiated the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Loren and Darla Wester of Meriden and Rebecca Jimerson of Ohio and Gordon Jimerson of Cape Canaveral, Fla.
Special Guests included the couple's grandparents Norman and Joyce Fredrickson of Okoboji and Roy and Elsie Wester of Paullina.
Serving the bride as Man of honor was Ward Wester, brother of the bride. Matron of Honor was Misty Dulin friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included Lea Huiner, cousin of the bride, Bethany Jimerson Urbina and Amanda Jimerson both sisters of the groom.
Serving the groom as Best Man was Chris Harman friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Eric Jimerson, brother of the groom and Bill Weiher, Jeff Zalatoris and Mark Sheppard all friends for law school.
Serving as Flower Girl was Abigail Dulin, friend of the bride and the daughter of the Matron of Honor. Musical Girl was Andrea Fredrickson, cousin of the bride. Serving as Ring Bearer was Gregory Jimerson, nephew of the groom. Musical Boy was Nicholas Jimerson, nephew of the groom.
Personal attendant included Molly Paulsrud, cousin of the bride. Host of the guest book and programs was Dr. Ward Fredrickson, uncle of the bride. Scripture Readers Gene Diwispalaere, cousin of the groom and Leighton Smith, cousin of the bride. Soloist was Barb Fredrickson, aunt of the bride.
Escorted by her brother, Ward, the bridal processional was the music, (Lara's Theme) from Doctor Zhivago. Lara gathered long-stemmed roses with ribbons and beading, handed out to her by special people, to make up her Bridal Bouguet.
Her mother tied the bouquet at the altar and she was given away by her parents and her brother.
Via a Unity candle, the couple had a sand ceremony. Each having bottles of sand from their childhood homes and pouring them into a vase of sand from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, their new home in Wilmington, N.C.
A dinner reception and dance was held at site of the ceremony in the Cedar Point Convention Center and Ballroom in Sandusky, Ohio. Where cake and cotton candy was served to all. Cedar Point Amusement Park is known world wide for its roller coasters.
An additional family reception was later held at the Arnolds Park Pavilion in Arnolds Park on Sept. 2, 2006.
The dinner theme was "A Taste of Tuscany" an Italian theme chosen because the bride had studied Design in Rome, Italy. Following the meal, was a program and video showing of the wedding.
The bride wore a strapless gown with Beaded Bodice. The skirt had seven layers of elegant chiffon that extended into a chapel train. The Bridesmaids wore dresses that were a replica of the bride's gown, in the bride's chosen wedding colors, red, fuschia, purple and coral orange. Each dress was a different color.
The tables had floor length linens in the bride's vivid colors with lighting under them. As the guests left the candle lit reception the tables were illuminated.
Each guest was given a brightly colored bag of taffy from Arnolds Park to take home.
