The Pirates held a 15 point lead going into the fourth quarter, and Lee said his team "did a great job of keeping our composure down the stretch to bring home the win" against a good Hinton Blackhawk team. Galva-Holstein won the non-conference game here, 72-69.
The Pirates led at each quarter break, 12-9, 38-30, 58-43. They were led by their returning All-Conference and All-District player Elijah Miller, who scored 26 points on six two-point field goals, two three-pointers, and eight of 10 free throw shooting. Fellow returning starter Nick Andresen scored 21 for the Pirates. Andresen was 5-5 at the line, as the Pirate team shot 17-21 (80.9%) from the line, and 49% (25-51) from the field.
Adam Freed, with 22 points, and Eli Kroll, with 15, led Hinton's scoring.
Galva-Holstein's next contest will be a home game against Odebolt-Arthur on Friday.
