Jacob Bruce, with season averages of 17.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game was a second team All-Northwest Conference and first team All-Area selection last season.
Jacob's brother Jared and Winterhof were the guards for coach Grant Peckenschneider's squad last season, and they posted solid season averages of 10.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game (Winterhof), and 10.2, 5.8, and 5.2 (Bruce).
Four other lettermen - all seniors - return this season. Gabe Fuller averaged 5.1 ppg and 4.3 rbg last season, and he's joined by centers Dustin Wieland and Kyle Doherty and guard Ross Fitzgerald.
Coach Peckenschneider sees "speed and quickness up-and-down the court" as the Bulldogs' chief strengths this season, but feels the team needs to develop an interior game and improve its shooting percentage to see an improvement in the record this year.
Promising prospects for the team this year include senior center Ryan Parker, junior guards Greg Kolpin and Mason Sangwin, junior forward Angelo Mikos, and sophomores Anthony Fowler (guard), Jordan Glawe (center), and forward Aaron Bruce - Jacob and Jared's younger brother.
Aurelia's team has the basic athletic talent to do well this season, with several team members capable of getting a hot shooting hand and carrying the team for a stretch. Peckenschneider and assistant coach Leigh Peterson hope that the team develops consistency throughout the season. If they do, it should be a fun season for the "run and gun" Bulldogs.
