New Pirate coach has four returning starters

Friday, December 8, 2006

The 2006-2007 Galva-Holstein Pirates
Bob Lee, the new boys basketball coach at Galva-Holstein, was certainly not faced with a bare cupboard when he assumed his new position this year. The Pirates return four starters and two other lettermen from last year's 16-5 squad, so if a couple of juniors or sophomores step up, the team should be pretty solid.

Senior Elijah Miller, a Wayne State recruit, is a three-year starter, and also a two-time unanimous All-Maple Valley Conference selection. Miller was also named first team All-District last season.Center John Dentlinger, another senior, was named to the Honorable Mention list on the All-Conference last season. Nick Andresen has started for two seasons, and Adrian Tracy returns from last year's starting lineup as well. Juniors Ben Andresen and Justin Ridder also lettered last year for the Pirates. Additional members of the squad include seniors Caleb Egger, Aric Allen, and Josh Werner, and juniors John Forristal and Sam Radke.

Coach Lee will be assisted by Shannon Tesch, as they try to guuide the veterean squad to a Maple Valley Conference championship and successful post-season.
