The team returns very little of the offensive production from last season's 11-10 team, and will be relying heavily on freshman and sophomores this year. The only senior on the squad will be Samantha Grayson, who is coming off a busy fall, having run cross country as well as playing volleyball. There are no juniors on the squad, either, but the good news is the sophomores have played together "for a long time," in Slater's words, and these tenth graders are a pretty athletic group. Lindsey and Heather Joslin and Brandi Wagoner all lettered as freshmen last season. They will be joined this season by fellow sophomores Alyssa Martin and Allisa McGuire, "and a host of freshmen," said Slater.
Slater sees "good team chemistry" as a team strength, alluding to the girls' many years of playing together. He does say that the team lacks height, and that they need to develop some depth as a team to have a successful season. Slater is assisted by Katie Tesch.
