They include Brennen Triplett, a 5-10 senior guard and two-year starter; Korey Wise, a 6-6 senior forward/center; Scott Wagner, a 6-2 1/2 senior forward; and Andy Puhrmann, a 6-0 junior guard.
Among the promising newcomers who will impact the Wolverines' varsity lineup are Jon Haden, a 6-2 senior forward; Nic Steffens, a 6-4 junior wing; Aaron Giese, a 6-11 junior center; Nic Faust, a 5-10 junior guard; and Jarod Syndergaard, a 6-1 freshman forward.
Triplett was an honorable mention All-War Eagle Conference pick last season and will be a leading scorer for the Wolverines this year.
Coach Yates sees depth, perimeter shooting, and guard play as major team strengths, aloong with a solid team work ethic and coachable players.
Bench scoring and necessary depth in the post are among team shortcomings listed by the first-year SOS coach, who takes over for former coach Craig Douma, who took the Carroll High School boys varsity job this year after several years at SOS.
The Wolverines were 13-9 last season. Yates will be assisted by Justin Mohning and Jim Wagner.
