PAULLINA - The South O'Brien Wolverines had four girls score in double figures as they defeated the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Eagles, 59-58, in War Eagle Conference hoops here on Tuesday.
SOS "came out and attacked the first 1 1/2 quarters," said Wolverine coach Julie Paulsen, "and then let up our momentum. We fought hard all game, but never decided to put the game away."
Paulsen was pleased that the Wolverines committed fewer turnovers than they had in previous games, and said her players have "guts," and "will keep moving forward."
Jill Paulsen led South O'Brien's well-balanced scoring with 16 points, and Chelsie Rohrs, Carrie Egdorf, and Chelsea Tesch talled 10 points apiece.
Rohrs had seven rebounds, and Tesch six, to lead the Wolverines in that department. Rohrs also had six steals, and Paulsen four, while Egdorf dished out three assists.
