PAULLINA - The South O'Brien girls took on a very tough opponent - state-ranked (3A) Spirit Lake- here on Saturday. Coach Julie Paulsen was very proud of her team's effort, saying they played hard, and, though they had lapses at the end of the second quarter and start of the third, "for the most part we played well," said Paulsen.
In the end, the Indians pulled off a 73-46 victory, after leading 16-11, 46-27, and 61-42 at the quarter breaks. Carrie Egdorf scored 16 points to pace the Wolverines, and Jill Paulsen tallied 13. Paulsen also grabbed seven rebounds, one less than team leader Chelsea Tesch's eight. Chelsie Rohrs had six asists to her teammates, and Lindsay Woolston stole three Spirit Lake passes.
