Katherine Jo Paulson of Springfield, South Dakota and Elijah James Stines of Holstein, were united in marriage on Oct. 28, 2006 in Tyndall, South Dakota at St. Leo's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Thury officiating. Parents of the bride are Rahn and Ruth Paulson of Springfield. Parents of the groom are Maria Stines of Des Moines, and Todd Stines of Holstein.

Guests of honor included the bride's grandparents-Francis and Mary Ann Griffin and the groom's grandparents, Pete and Marie Stines. and Gerald and Kay Chettinger, and the groom's great-grandmother-Ila Maye Chettinger.

Maid of honor was Kristin Plath, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jill Paulson and Amanda Paulson, sisters-in-law of the bride, Paige Stines and Cassy Stines, sisters of the groom, and Carmen Soulek, cousin of the bride.

Flower girls were Kaitlin Paulson, niece of the bride, and Shantai Richmond, niece of the groom. Best man was Josh Martin, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Bart Noe, friend of the groom, Justin Paulson, Ben Paulson, Luke Paulson, and Will Paulson, brothers of the bride. Ring bearers were Semar James and Sklar James, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Jason Schmall, friend of the couple, and Nick Ishmael, cousin of the bride.

The bride's personal attendant was Ileen Beeson. Flower pinners were Norma Soulek and Bev Stines. Organist was Kathy Koenig. Guestbook attendant was Katie Kribell. Altar servers were Donovan Soulek and Whitney Hovorka. Lector was Gerald Chettinger. Eucharistic and wine ministers were Gerald Chettinger and Steve and Arlene Rezac. Professional photography was done by Rebecca Miner Photography. Candid photographer was Anna Ishmael. Videographer was Shannon DeFries.

The reception and dance were held in Tabor, S.D. at Beseda Hall. Hosts and hostesses were Pam and Mark Stines and Lynn and Paul Namminga. Cake cutters were Kathy Skorpik and Kathryn Parvu. Punch bowl attendants were Bette Koehn, Judy Ishmael, and Melissa Stines. Servers were overseen by Nancy Soukup. Servers were Donavan Soulek, Whitney Hovorka, Mona Soukup, Nick Pechous, and Emily Pechous.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Bon Homme High School and a 2006 graduate of USD in Vermillion with a bachelor of science degree in contemporary media and journalism. She is employed at e-Telecare Global Solutions in Vermillion as a sales representative. The groom is a 2002 graduate of Galva-Holstein High School and a 2006 graduate of USD with bachelor of science degrees in psychology and mathematics. He is currently pursuing his masters in mathematics at the USD. He is currently employed as an assistant manager at Hy-vee in Yankton as well as an assistant professor in the mathematics department at USD.

The couple resides in Vermillion.
