Funeral services were held on Feb. 7 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. The Reverend Rod Dunker officiated, with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek.
Born Oct. 16, 1918, in Sioux City, Mildred was the daughter of August Frederick and Emma Ida Catherine (Reincke) Edsen. She grew up on the family farm west of Battle Creek and received her education in Battle Creek.
She made her home in San Francisco, Calif. for 46 years, where she was a line operator for the Best Foods division of Corn Products. In 1981, she returned to Battle Creek. Mildred was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. She enjoyed shopping and loved her cats.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Schlinz of Holstein, and Goldie Robinson of Cherokee; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Irma Barry.
