Serviceswere held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee. Rev. Armand Bertrand officiating. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee.
Josephine was born March 12, 1910 in Cleghorn, to William and Frances (Zimmer) Glassmaker. She attended school in Cherokee, graduating from Immaculate Conception High School in 1928 and attended the Cherokee Academy for 1 year.
On Sept. 12, 1934 she married Walter W. Turner at the Maryhill Visitation Catholic Church, rural Cherokee, Iowa.
He preceded her in death Aug. 7,1985. They farmed near Cherokee until 1982. She loved to garden and grow flowers. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ladies Union, honorary member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and active in card and neighborhood clubs.
Survivors include sons; Jack Turner, and his wife, Doris, of Warsaw, Ill.; Frank Turner, and his wife, Terri, of Madison, Wisc.; daughters, Lois Wahl, of Denver, Colo.; Sandra Bundy, of Albuquerque, NM.; Donna Turner-Lutman, and her husband, Steve, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Raymond Glassmaker, and his wife, Helen, of Cleghorn,; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter (8/7/1985), infant sons (James and Anthony) a son in law (Robert Wahl) and six brothers and sisters.
