Janne Yaggy Deischl, 67, of Houston, Texas, died on Jan. 29, 2007. She died peacefully and painlessly in her home, after a two month long treatment for cancer. She was born April 27, 1939, in Duluth, Minn.

She was the daughter of longtime Cherokee residents and former Coast to Coast Store owners, Jay and Faye Yaggy. Jay brought his family here in 1943 and preceded Janne in death in 2003. She was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School. Later, she earned a B.A in Home Economics from the University of Minn., graduating in 1961.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Yaggy in 1999, her husband Dennis Deischl in 2001, and her brother Dave Yaggy in 2005. She is survived by her son, Scott Deischl and wife Kim of Houston, Texas, her daughter Molly Prim and husband John of Houston, Texas, her grandchildren Jason and Paige Deischl and Joshua and Paul Prim, all of Houston, Texas, and her brother Clark Yaggy and his wife Marilyn of Canton, Georgia. Numerous other relatives and friends gathered in Houston for memorial services for her on Jan. 31.
