Defeat Pocahontas Area 56-24

AURELIA- The AGH "Stonecutters" wrestling team finished their dual meet season here on Friday evening with a nice 56 -24 win over a fine Pocahontas Area team, giving AGH a 25-4 season dual mark.

It was "Senior night" for eight AGH wrestlers - Alyn Sargent, Kyle Conover, Mike White, Andrew Perry, Bryce Dean, Austin Todd, Daniel Borchers, and Steven Rupp - as well as for senior cheerleaders Liz Laursen and Jessica Cougill, and manager Katee Dean. All were saluted prior to the match, and wlll be missed next year, according to the coaches.

The AGH coaches were happy with their team's performance Friday, and felt they looked sharp as they head into Sectionals at Orange City this Saturday, February 10, at MOC/Floyd Valley in Orange City. The matches will begin at 12 noon, and first and second place winners will advance to the District Tournament in Spirit Lake on Saturday December 17.

135- Kyle Yearous, AGH, pinned Shane Kirkgaard in 3:52.

140- Mike White, AGH, pinned Brad Austin in 1:14.

145- Andrew Perry, AGH, beat Chey Payer, 5-4.

152- Bryce Dean, AGH, beat Christian Mohwiter, 20-4.

160- Austin Todd, AGH, pinned Nick Valentine in 1:15.

171- Colten Janssen, PA, won by forfeit.

189- Daniel Borchers, AGH, pinned Tom Brinkman in 1:00.

215- Steven Rupp, AGH, pinned D.J. Schnell in 5:47.

HWT- Adam Dreeszen, AGH, pinned Clay Wentzel in 1:57.
