CHARTER OAK - The Aurelia Bulldog boys ran into a hot-shooting Charter Oak-Ute team in non-conference basketball action here Tuesday night.
The Bobcats scored 20 points or more in each of the first three quarters against Grant Peckenschneider's Bulldog team, and Coach Peck said, "They shot the ball extremely well. If they shoot like that, they will be a very difficult team to beat come tournament time."
Aurelia, on the other hand, said the 'Dogs' coach, "shot very poorly, and were outrebounded. That was our worst effort on the boards all season. We missed some easy shots here and there that hurt us."
Summing up, though, Peckenschneider said of the Bobcats, "they are a very good team, and play well together."
Bulldog scoring was led by Aaron Bruce, who talied 18 points. Tanner Winterhof added 13, Jacob Bruce 11, and Dustin Wieland six. Charter Oak-Ute had three players score in double digits. Tyler Soukup led the scoring with 18 points, Jake Gostar had 15, and Kyle Savery 12.
The Bulldogs start District Tournament play with a 6:30 p.m. match-up with Odebolt-Arthur at Schaller on Feb. 22.
