Donna I. Reinert, 56, of Cherokee, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Private family services and burial will be a later date. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee is in charge of the arrangements.
Donna was born Dec. 22, 1950 at Sioux City to Thomas & June (Utecht) Montgomery. She graduated from Willow Community High School in 1969 and then attended Iowa State University graduating with a Degree in Family Social Services and Home Economics.
She also obtained an Elementary Education Degree from Buena Vista University. She was a substitute teacher for many of the local schools and was a private tutor. She was a lifelong resident of the Cherokee area. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. She loved reading, cooking and collecting cookbooks.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister Sharon.
She is survived by one brother and one sister: John Montgomery and his wife Patti of Aurelia; Denise Petty and her husband Reginald of Washta; three nephews and great nephews and nieces: Adam Petty and his wife Tressa and their children Tyler, Elise & Kaylee of Correctionville; Andrew Petty and his wife Stephanie and their son Timothy of Quimby; David Petty of Emmetsburg.
