GPAC Honors for Bartel

SIOUX CITY - Morningside College sophomore Autumn Bartel, a Cherokee Washington High graduate, has been named to the All-GPAC (Great Plains Athletic Conference) Honorable Mention women's basketball list.

Bartel, a 5-9 guard, averages 8.3 points per game and is the Mustang's second leading rebounder with an average of 3.7 rebounds per game. Bartel, the 35th leading scorer in Morningside history with 648 career points, was a second-team All-GPAC selection last year.

The daughter of Dale and Linda Bartel of Cherokee, Autumn was a repeat All-Lakes Conference first-team pick, and repeat All-State and All-District performer at Cherokee.

Miranda Boekhout, a sophomore wing for Northwestern College in Orange City, also earned All-GPAC Honorable Mention laurels. Boekhout is a graduate of Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn and the daughter of Lonnie and Connie Boekhout of Marcus.

She was a repeat All-War Eagle Conference first-team selection, and also reaped All-District and All-State honors while playing for the Eagles.
