G-H boys win own Relays title

Pirates' Egger claims a first and second

HOLSTEIN - The host Galva-Holstein Pirates won the boys' division of the 2007 Galva-Holstein Relays here Friday night, totaling745 points in the total team scoring format, to runner-up Lawton-Bronson's 713.

Battle Creek-Ida Grove was third with 644, followed by Hinton 628, Remsen-Union 589, East Sac County 585, Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto 545.50, Wsetwood 543, Schaller-Crestland 538, Whiting 473.50, West Monona 471, Woodbury Central 432.50, Odebolt-Arthur 346.50, River Valley 332, Kingsley-Pierson 260, G-H JV 240, Charter Oak-Ute 177.

The winning Pirates tallied two firsts and four seconds on their way to the title, with Caleb Egger winning the 1600 meters in 4:47.94, and placing second in the 800 meters in a time of 2:04.16. The G-H 4x100 shuttle hurdle relay also was first in 1:94.35.

G-H was second in the sprint medley relay in a time of 4:05.60, Jared Schlinz was second in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.51, and Aric Allen was second in the discus with a throw of 133-02 1/2. John Harris was fourth in the 800 meters in 2:08.63, and Ben Andresen was fourth in the discus with a 124-02 1/2 effort.

Sam Radke was seventh in the 100 meters in 12.05, and harris was eighth in the 200 meters in 24.81. Allen was sixth in the shot put with a 42-06 1/2 heave, and Daniel Borchers was ninth with a 41-01 effort. Nick Andresen was 10th in the 110 high hurdles in 18.46. Chris Willson was ninth in the high jump with a leap of 5-04, and Patrick McAreavy was 10th with a 5-02 effort. Kellen Jacobson was fourth in the 400-meter low hurdles in 1:04.19, and Schlinz was 10th in 1:08.81.

In other relays for G-H, the sprint medley was third in 4:05.60, the 4x800 was third in 9:06.27, the 4x100 was sixth in 48.88, , and the 4x400 seventh in 3:51.23.

For River Valley's boys, Chance Cullen was seventh in the 400 meters in a time of 56.38, and also was eighth in the 800 meters in 2:12.60. Matthew Lundt was seventh in the discus with a throw of 120-04, and also was eighth in the shot put with a 41-04 1/2 heave.

The RV boys were eighth in the 4x400 relay in 3:52.33, and eighth in the 4x200 with a 1:43.92 clocking.
