MARCUS - The South O'Brien golf teams swept both boys and girls competitions with Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn here Tuesday, the Wolverines boys winning 156-167, and the SOS girls claiming a 218-264 victory.
Nic Steffens of SOS was medalist in the boys match, carding a 34. His teammate Heath Brown was runner-up medalist with a 39. Other low scores for the winners were Kyle Petrich 40, and Matt Cole 43. Also scoring for SOS were Andrew Petterson 45, and Jason Van Engen 48.
Three MMC players carded 41s, including Jacob Lehnhoff, Luke Dreckman, and Jordan Petersen. Tim Holmes scored 44. Also scoring for the Eagles were Jerad Letsche 44, and Lukas Nelson 52.
The MMC boys won the JV match with a 176, compared to a 183 by SOS. Darren Morse of MMC was medalist with a 37, and Blaine Dammann was runner-up withy a 43. Other low medal for the Eagle JV team were Chad Alesch 47, and Nathan Wendt 49. MItch Erdman shot a 51, and Dan Holmes 60.
For the SOS JV, Ryan Brasser shot 44, Travis Sump 46, Brennan Triplett 46, and Korey Wise 47. Also, John Haden shot 50, and Justin Kruse 60.
In girls action, Carrie Egdorf of SOS was medalist with a 50, and teammate Rachel Steinkamp and MMC's Katie Bauer each carded 52 to tie for runner-up honors. Other low scores for the winners were Heather Halverson 57, and Aphton Roberts 59.
For MMC, Lindy Pedersen shot 54, and Beth Mohning 59.
In JV action, Rylee Smith and Hope Fox were low for SOS with 65s, and Robyn Cave of MMC also was low with a 65.
