Drop off - Canadian National Railroad's long arm crane is pictured here depositing a stack of RR ties. Each stack contains 15 individual RR ties. Although the ties are being replaced, the rails will remain the same. Photo by Mike Leckband
Over the past few weeks, workers from the Canadian National Railroad have constructed a massive section of track in Cherokee. The new section of track is one piece, and will be placed on the trestle that crosses over the Little Sioux River near Spring Lake Park. The Canadian National Rail Road will have the new section in place by the end of June.
