HARTLEY - The Aurelia girls' track team placed in several field events at the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawk Relays at Hartley on Friday, getting the team off to a good start and allowing it to finish 7th in an 11-team field.
The shuttle hurdle team of Jessica Cougill, Kristine Munden, Katee Dean, and Prisclla Otto won their event in a time of 1:11.69. That was the only first place Aurelia effort, but they did do well in several events.

3rd- 4 x 100 m. Relay -- Munden, Dean, Christa Corderman, Shelby Dierenfield, 54.96 (season best)
4th- Dierenfield, high jump -- 4-8
Otto, long jump -- 14-7
5th- Sprint Medley -- Corderman, Dean, Dierenfield, Erin Laursen, 2:03.75 (season best)
Tiffany Johnson -- long Jump, 14-4.5 (season best)
6th - 4 x 800 Relay -- Jessica Mann, Johnson, Corderman, Laursen, 2:55
Dean -- 100 m. hurdles, 17.34
Coach Jolene Hultgren said she has been very happy to see the girls in the field events coming through in every meet, consistently placing in the high jump, long jump, and discus. The hurdle events are continuing to improve and also give the team points each meet.
The Bulldog girls competed at the Schaller-Crestland Girls Relays on Monday, and will be at the River Valley relays in Correctionville on Friday.
