DES MOINES - The Buena Vista University men's shuttle hurdle relay team made history at the recent Drake Relays here, placing in the event for the first time in BVU track and field history.
The Beavers placed fourth among all competing university teams in the event with a 1:00.73 clocking, after posting a time of 1:01.05 in the preliminaries to make the finals.
Team members include Justin Taylor, a junior from Cherokee; Shawn Olorundami, a junior from Sioux City West; Tanner Russ, a freshman from MOC-Floyd Valley; and Steve Maguire, a junior from Treynor.

Taylor, the son of Denny and Deb Taylor of Cherokee, also recently set a personal best time in the 400-meter hurdles at the Sioux City Relays, clocking a speedy 54.71 to place second in the college men's finals.
