On Friday, April 27, the Iowa State Cooperative Extension office in Cherokee County presented their annual Hall of Fame Awards. This year's awards went to Dale Smith and Gladys Rupp. These outstanding individuals where recognized for their outstanding volunteer service and leadership.
Smith was involved with Cherokee County Extension and 4-H and Youth programs for several decades. He touched the lives of many young 4-H'ers with his leadership and help, especially the Livestock Shows during the Cherokee County Fair. Smith was also devoted to Iowa State University and was known as the former Extension Director's right hand man with significant leadership shown in a variety of projects.
Gladys Rupp was involved with Cherokee County Extension and 4-H and Youth programs for several decades. She touched the lives of many young girls as the devoted leader of the Sheridan Stars 4-H Club. Rupp was particularly devoted to educational presentations and workshops and helped with many Cherokee County Fairs.
